Axium™ MicroFX™ coil

Detachable coils

Axium™ MicroFX™ coil

The Axium MicroFX™ coil is designed to reduce blood flow across aneurysms and offers an alternative to bare coils in treating intracranial aneurysms.

Description

Axium™ MicroFX™ coils are intended for the endovascular embolization of intracranial aneurysms. Axium™ MicroFX™ coils are also intended for the embolization of other neurovascular abnormalities such as arteriovenous malformations and arteriovenous fistulae.1 The coils are designed with polymer-fibers for rapid occlusion - microfilaments are designed to significantly impact flow reduction and accelerate thrombosis.2

Vessel or fistula take down

An alternative to bare platinum coils for neurovascular abnormalities such as arteriovenous malformations and arteriovenous fistulae1,3

Polymer fibers

Axium™ MicroFX™ coils contain PGLA or nylon  microfilaments designed to impact flow reduction and accelerate thrombosis2

LatticeFX™ technology

LatticeFX™ technology provides an interlocked surface area or scaffold which orients cell adhesion and extracellular deposition4

Accelerated thrombus formation

Enhanced thrombin generation with filamented coils when compared to bare platinum coils.†3

Features

Axium™ coil family provides optimal implant designs for a variety of coiling procedures with our framing, filling, and finishing coils. Axium™ products provide proven softness, high-volume packing, minimal kickback, and exceptional detachment..‡, 5–11

99.7%

Proven reliability with first attempt detachment success10–12

Better trackability through tortuous anatomy§,13-15

Distal tapered pusher design allows for increased articulation and enhanced trackability14,16

Minimal micro catheter kick-back

Ball and socket design allows for 360° axial rotation which facilitates coil delivery with less micro catheter kick-back14–17

The entire Axium™ family of coils features a progressive outer diameter matched to the implant size, which optimizes stability and volume throughout the entire coil line.5

‡ Based on bench test comparing average work number of Axium™ Prime extra soft coil versus Target® Nano™ coil. 20 units of each coil were tested. Bench testing is not indicative of clinical performance.; Determined using formula for cylinder (volume = πr2 x length). Based on calculated k-factor values
