RECOMMENDATION Consider an Advanced Evaluation

Based on the responses provided in the questionnaire regarding your patient's current status, your patient may benefit from intrathecal baclofen (ITB) therapy. Please consider referring your patient to an ITB therapy provider for further evaluation for his/her severe spasticity.

Note: Patients may not be considered for ITB therapy if patient: 

• has suffered traumatic brain injury less than one year ago
• is hypersensitive to baclofen
• has an active infection. Patient cannot proceed with screening test or implant until infection has resolved
• has a body size too small to hold the implantable pump. (Safety and efficacy in patients under the age of 4 has not been established)
