BALLOON SINUS SURGERY WITH NUVENT™ EM SINUS DILATION SYSTEM SINUS SURGERY

Important Safety Information

BEFORE YOUR PROCEDURE

CT SCAN

A CT scan of your sinuses will confirm your diagnosis and help your doctor decide if surgery is right for you. The StealthStation FlexENT™ navigation system will use your CT scan to create a "visual map" of your sinus anatomy.

ANESTHESIA

Your doctor will discuss anesthesia options with you. The option selected depends on the severity of your sinusitis and other factors.

NAVIGATION SYSTEM

During your surgery, your doctor will use a built-in tracking element that "talks to" the StealthStation FlexENT™ navigation system to track the balloon through your sinuses.

DURING YOUR PROCEDURE

INSERTING NUVENT™ BALLOON

Your surgeon will insert the NuVent™ balloon into the blocked sinus pathway, using navigation to see and confirm precise placement.

INFLATING NUVENT™ BALLOON

After your surgeon makes sure the placement is right, the NuVent™ balloon is inflated.

DEFLATING NUVENT™ BALLOON

After inflation, the balloon is deflated. The process of inflating and deflating is repeated as necessary to open blocked passages and restore normal sinus function.

AFTER YOUR PROCEDURE

After the procedure, your doctor may prescribe additional medications and irrigations to use to ease pain and swelling. Be sure to discuss any concerns with your doctor.
