Annuloplasty

Contour 3D™ annuloplasty ring

The Contour 3D™ annuloplasty ring is a remodeling ring with a physiological tricuspid valve shape.

Features

The Contour 3D™ design is based on CT data from functional human tricuspid valves.

Rings that resemble the natural shape of the annulus provide better leaflet coaptation than planar rings by preserving greater leaflet mobility.1,2

Septal lateral compression is incorporated into the ring to address annular dilatation.

Long-term results with three-dimensional rings: effective and durable3

A recent retrospective study analyzed 168 patients undergoing tricuspid valve repair either with Contour 3D™ or MC3™* rings. The cumulative incidence of recurrent tricuspid regurgitation (TR) ≥ 2+ was 14 ± 3.17% at long-term follow-up.

Rate of TR ≥ 2+

 • 7.5 ± 3.69% in the Contour 3D™ group
 • 20.3 ± 5.03% in the MC3™* group
Cumulative incidence function of TR ≥ 2+
This is a graph showing cumulative incidence of recurrent tricuspid regurgitation after seven years for the Contour 3D™ ring and MC3 ring.

Low regurgitation recurrence4

In a retrospective analysis of 468 patients who underwent tricuspid valve repair with Contour 3D™ ring, 96.1% of the patients had no/trivial or mild TR and cumulative incidence for tricuspid valve reoperation was 2.0 ± 1.1% at six-year follow-up.

Cumulative incidence of reoperation
This graph shows low rates of reoperation at mid-term follow up for the Contour 3D™ annuloplasty ring.
Tricuspid valve regurgitation
This graph shows low rates of recurrent tricuspid regurgitation at mid-term follow up for the Contour 3D™ annuloplasty ring.

Key risks of tricuspid annuloplasty include recurrent regurgitation, stenosis, and ring dehiscence.
