Brockenbrough™ curved needle

Brockenbrough™ curved needles are used to make a transseptal puncture during cardiac ablation procedures.

Features

Transseptal technique allows left atrial access from the venous system for catheter ablation of left-sided arrhythmogenic substrates. Many physicians prefer the transseptal approach; others use it when a transaortic (retrograde) approach is contraindicated.1

The Brockenbrough™ curved needle is made up of an outer cannula and an inner stylet. The outer cannula is made of flexible thin-walled tubing. The inner stylet is solid, much stiffer, and closely fitting, with sharpened end protrudes 2 to 3 mm beyond the tip of the cannula.
