Julia

Julia has a new lease on life after her TAVR procedure. Learn how this devoted family caretaker (and great grandmother!) spoke up and continued to advocate for herself. Now, she’s back to dancing with her love of 55 years — husband Jose.

Darian

Darian is living her life to the fullest, thanks to her TAVR procedure in 2021. She's back to the things that mean the most: cooking, gardening, and caring for her large family and circle of friends — who gather at her home every weekend.

Gary

An avid (and excellent!) golfer, Gary found his energy declining and found himself short of breath while doing his daily activities. After a routine doctor visit, Gary's heart team suggested TAVR for his symptomatic severe aortic stenosis. After the procedure, Gary says he's "back up to the challenge" — working, gardening, and trying to keep up with his 20 grandkids.

Brenda

A busy mother and grandmother, Brenda was having difficulty taking care of her family. Shortness of breath and a lack of energy brought Brenda to her doctors, who determined she had a case of symptomatic severe aortic stenosis and that she was a candidate for a TAVR procedure. Hear Brenda share about how she's able to keep up with her grandkids now. 

Dolores

Dolores was an active 88-year-old — biking, doing yard work, and taking care of her great-grandchildren. She was diagnosed with symptomatic severe aortic stenosis after experiencing bouts of dizziness. Her physician team deemed her to be at high surgical risk because of her age, and recommended TAVR, as recovery would be better. Hear why Dolores says, "I've got living to do!"

Ron

A former boxer, musician, comedian, and aspiring actor, Ron was experiencing advanced symptoms of severe aortic stenosis. Due to these symptoms and the fact that Ron had already had open-heart surgery, his heart surgeon thought TAVR was an excellent option. Once again, Ron is able to enjoy a cherished activity — making music. Listen to Ron’s story (and his singing!).

All medical procedures, including TAVR, come with risks. Although serious or major complications are rare, they can include:

  • Death
  • Stroke
  • Serious damage to the arteries
  • Serious bleeding
  • Need for permanent pacemaker
