How long is the hospital stay for shunt placement?

Most patients leave the hospital within 2 to 7 days, depending on their clinical progress.

What happens after the procedure is over?

Immediately after surgery, patients are taken to the post-anesthesia care unit. They stay there for close observation for an hour or so and then are taken to their own room.
