The CryoConsole™ cardiac ablation system powers and regulates the temperature of approved cryoablation catheters during heart arrhythmia procedures.
Description
Advanced technology for efficient operations
The CryoConsole™ system houses the electrical and mechanical components as well as proprietary software for controlling and recording a cryotherapy procedure performed with the Arctic Front Family of Cryoablation Catheters and/or Freezor Family of Focal Cryoablation Catheters.
The console stores and controls the delivery of the liquid refrigerant through the coaxial umbilical cable to the catheter, recovers the refrigerant vapor from the catheter under constant vacuum, and disposes of the refrigerant through the hospital scavenging system. Multiple features are built into Medtronic cryoablation catheters and the CryoConsole™ system to promote system stability.
Specifically, the console:
- Stores and controls the delivery of the liquid refrigerant (N2O) through the coaxial umbilical cable to the catheter
- Recovers the refrigerant vapor from the catheter under constant vacuum
- Disposes of the refrigerant through the hospital scavenging system
Features
The CryoConsole™ cardiac ablation system features an adjustable monitor and touch-screen control for a straightforward procedure. It can be paired with a footswitch that starts and stops the flow of refrigerant during a procedure. The console also includes an electrophysiology (EP) connectivity feature, which enables cryotherapy information to be transmitted to select external EP recording systems.
Intuitive operation
Patient data and therapy variables are managed by a simple touchscreen interface. The screen also displays numerical and graphical data to help physicians and staff assess the status of the system, ablation time, and catheter temperatures. The CryoConsole™ system can transmit information about the procedure to other EP recording systems for display purposes.
