North Bristol NHS Trust
The Trust provides hospital and community healthcare to a population of 500,000 people, primarily in South Gloucestershire and North Bristol, as well as being a regional centre for neurosciences, plastics, burns, orthopaedics, and renal. Like many NHS Trusts, waiting lists and workflows were only increasing, with a limited budget available to combat the issues.
On the 1st January 2020, North Bristol NHS Trust kicked off the new year by entering into a MedPoints contract for their Deep Brain Stimulation service. In the process, they accrued 825 points: the equivalent of £82,500 to invest in their patients. The decision was made to fully utilize the value of their MedPoints to discount the purchase price of an O-arm™ (an intraoperative 2D/3D imaging system), enabling them to meet the demands of their surgical workflow even more effectively.
