If an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) patient receives a shock during intimate activities, will it hurt their partner?

Most patients get back to intimate activities when their incisions are healed, but everyone is different. It's possible to be shocked while having sex, but it isn't likely. If a shock does occur, anyone in contact may feel it, but only as a muscle spasm. While this can be startling, this won't hurt the partner.
