Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA)
Aortic aneurysms often develop without any symptoms. That was the case with O.D., a retired school administrator living in California. "I think everyone should be screened," says O.D. "With an aneurysm like mine, there are no symptoms. I was lucky that my doctor discovered it."
There were never any signs that Helen had an abdominal aortic aneurysm. In fact, she never gave it much thought, until a friend happened to mention it. Helen had a stent grafting procedure, recovered quickly, and resumed her normal routine within a couple of weeks after surgery.
