Campus Bio-Medico - Case Study
Optimised bariatric care and improved patient satisfaction.
Approximately 20% of patients regain their weight after bariatric surgery. Some 80% of those patients weren’t adequately monitored post-surgery.
The Bariatric Surgery Centre at Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Campus Bio-Medico wanted to improve in this area. The center implemented Get Ready®, a remote patient management system for connected care, resulting in:
fewer calls to patients by case managers
reduction of in-person follow-up visits
fewer calls from patients to the case manager after surgery
average satisfaction score of patients for Get Ready®
The Get Ready® solution allows us to be more streamlined in following up with patients; it truly enables us to stay close to them.
– Dr. Vincenzo Bruni Director of Bariatric Surgery at Campus Bio-Medico
Implementing the Get Ready® digital solution helped shorten length of stay by more than a day, increase same-day admissions by 33% and improve patient satisfaction.
The Clinical Director of Pain Relief Ireland said of the project, “This is not only a national first but right up there on the international front as well – particularly with the potential to modify the way we select individuals for spinal cord stimulation across Europe.”
The bariatric department needed to find a way to quickly reduce in-person consultations to reduce during the COVID-19 crisis, so IHS implemented a fully operational, remote bariatric pathway in just four weeks.
