Overview

NanoStim™ Synthetic Bone Paste is a water-based bone grafting paste that uses nanotechnology to facilitate new bone formation and bone healing.

Indications

Delivered in a syringe, NanoStim™ Synthetic Bone Paste is ready to use in the filling and reconstruction of bone defects in orthopaedics, traumatology, and neurosurgery.

Vertebral Interbody Fusion to be used as a bone graft extender.

  • Bone graft extender: autograft & allograft, offering the adequate graft volume.
  • Low radio-opacity. Allow radiological assessment of new bone formation.

Methodology

  • 7 tibial, calcaneal or distal radial fractures treated with plate fixation and nanocrystalline hydroxyapatite
  • Biopsy specimens from 6 adult patients at the time of osteosynthesis removal
  • Average time point 13 months.

Results

  • Cortical and spongious bone well structured
  • Implanted material widely absorbed
  • In all specimens, new bone formation clearly visible with the deposition of osteoid and mineralization in the presence of cell layers resembling osteoblasts.
