Velosorb™ Fast sutures are composed of absorbable synthetic polyester comprised of glycolide and lactide (derived from glycolic and lactic acids).
This braided absorbable suture offers:
Velosorb™ Fast sutures are indicated for use in soft tissue approximation of the skin and mucosa, when only 7-10 days of wound support is required. Application for episiotomy repair, where fast absorption is preferred, may be beneficial for patient comfort and dyspareunia. However, it is not indicated for use in ligation, opthalmic, cardiovascular, or neurological procedures.
Caprosyn™ synthetic absorbable suture’s quick absorption (56 days), durable polymer material and monofilament construction provide smooth passage through tissue, better approximation or ligation, and minimized potentiation of infection. Patients can experience less discomfort during healing, less wound complications and a faster recovery.
The advanced extrusion process of the molecule of Polygytone™ 6211 gives the suture:
Caprosyn™ sutures are indicated for use in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, but not for use in cardiovascular or neurological surgery, microsurgery, or ophthalmic surgery.
Polysorb™ sutures are composed of Lactomer™ glycolide/lactide copolymer, which is a synthetic polyester composed of glycolide and lactide (derived from glycolic and lactic acids). They are prepared by coating the suture with a mixture of a caprolactone/glycolide copolymer and calcium stearoyl lactylate. The sutures are colored violet to increase visibility and are also available undyed.
The advanced extrusion process of the molecule of Lactomer™ 9-1, the exclusive braiding process and coating system, give the suture:
Polysorb™ sutures are indicated for use during surgical interventions, including ophthalmic surgery for the purposes of soft tissue approximation and/or ligation.
Biosyn™ synthetic absorbable sutures are prepared from Gylcomer™ 631, a synthetic polyester composed of glycolide (60%), dioxanone (14%), and trimethylene carbonate (26%). These sutures are colored violet to increase visibility and are also available undyed.
The advanced extrusion process of the molecule of Gylcomer™ 631 gives the suture:
Biosyn™ sutures are indicated for use in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, but not for use in cardiovascular or neurological surgery.
Maxon™ synthetic absorbable sutures are prepared from polyglyconate, a copolymer of glycolic acid and trimethylene carbonate.
The advanced extrusion process of the molecule of polyglyconate gives the suture:
Maxon™ synthetic absorbable sutures are indicated for use in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including use in pediatric cardiovascular tissue, where growth is expected to occur, and in peripheral vascular surgery. They are not indicated for use in adult cardiovascular tissue, ophthalmic surgery, microsurgery, and neural tissues.
Our absorbable sutures provide strength retention and absorption profiles to meet your surgical specialty and tissue healing requirements.
