Medtronic Australasia recognised as a Great Place to Work for 2021

Medtronic Australasia, a subsidiary of Medtronic plc (NYSE:MDT) — the global leader in medical technology — is pleased to announce it has been certified as a Great Place to Work in Australia and New Zealand. Great Place to Work Certification™ is the global benchmark for identifying outstanding employee experiences and is acknowledged by employees and employers worldwide.

“Medtronic is an organisation that stays true to its Mission and tenet five of our Mission reinforces the importance of recognising the personal worth of all employees,” said Liz Carnabuci, managing director of Medtronic Australasia.

“Being certified a Great Place to Work not only demonstrates how Medtronic brings its Mission to life, but it also validates our workplace culture and the way in which we foster a sense of inclusion for all employees.”

According to Great Place to Work®, 89% of employees at Medtronic Australasia say it is a great place to work, while 94% say they are proud to tell others they work here. Also, 95% of employees feel good about the way the organisation contributes to the community. Further details of Medtronic’s certification can be found here.

Medtronic strives to create a sense of connection among employees, especially given the remote work model brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. This has been achieved via flexible working arrangements, online training and e-learning opportunities, and virtual all-employee meetings.

“Medtronic has strong employee engagement, with active employee resource groups, networking circles and development programs that are built on the important values of Inclusion, Diversity and Equity (IDE),” said Ms. Carnabuci.

“Inclusion and diversity are essential to our purpose and our continued efforts in this has helped drive innovation and technological solutions that deliver on our aim, which is to alleviate pain, restore health and extend life for people from all walks of life.”

The Great Place to Work Certification builds on the recognition that Medtronic Australasia is an employer of choice. In April, it was listed among LinkedIn's Top 2021 companies in Australia, a ranking of the 25 best workplaces to grow one’s career.

By securing a place on the LinkedIn list, Medtronic Australasia was recognised as one of only 25 companies in Australia that actively help employees build a professional foundation - setting them up for success both at the company and beyond.
