REBAR™ Microcatheter

The Rebar™ microcatheter solution features a robust reinforced design for reliable and smooth delivery of Solitaire™ Platinum stent, Onyx™ liquid embolic system and Axium™ coils.

The Rebar™ reinforced microcatheter is a single-lumen catheter introduced via a steerable guidewire into the vasculature. Its stainless-steel construction, high kink resistance, and hydrophilic coating help navigate tortuous anatomy and deploy therapeutic agents or contrast media with ease.

Rebar microcatheter

EFFECTIVE LESION ACCESS

Rebar™ microcatheter’s robust construction with variable stiffness zones and lubricious hydrophilic outer coating delivers ease in tracking through tortuous vessels while providing superior pushability to reach and smoothly treat the lesion. 

Rebar™ is compatible with different neurovascular treatments: 

  • For mechanical thrombectomy, to deliver stent retrievers
  • For aneurysm treatment, to deliver coils
  • For AVM/AVF treatment, to deliver liquid embolic system

  • Continuous stainless-steel construction provides added reinforcement
  • High resistance to kinking when maneuvering around tight bends
  • Distal radiopaque marker aids fluoroscopic visualization

  • Lubricious hydrophilic outer coating helps navigate tortuous vessels and reduce resistance
  • PTFE inner liner eases the passage and deployment of embolic devices and agents

  • Steam-shapeable catheter tip through the use of a mandrel enables treatment of super selective vessels

SPECIFICATIONS

Indications

The Rebar™ microcatheter is intended for controlled selective infusion of physician-specified therapeutic agents or contrast media into the vasculature of the peripheral and neuro anatomy. It is not intended for use in the coronary vasculature. It is contraindicated when, in the medical judgement of the physician, such a procedure may compromise the patient’s condition. It is contraindicated for neonatal and pediatric use.

Characteristics

  • All Rebar™ microcatheters are compatible with Onyx™ liquid embolic system
  • Rebar™ microcatheter 18 is recommended for: Solitaire™ AB remodeling device 3mm and 4mm, Solitaire™ Platinum Revascularization device 4mm.
  • Rebar™ microcatheter 27 is recommended for: Solitaire™ AB remodeling device 5mm and 6mm Solitaire™ Platinum revascularization device 6mm.
