The hospital wanted to function more efficiently to treat more patients. Starting with the Neurosurgery Department, the goals were to professionalize core activities; reduce waste to free up nurse resources; bring in new competencies around operational optimization and planning; ensure the well-being and engagement of employees; and leverage international benchmarking, collaboration and knowledge exchange with other university hospitals.
