DOWNLOAD RECHARGING GUIDE

RECHARGING YOUR RESTORE™ FAMILY NEUROSTIMULATOR

The following components are used during the recharging process:

  • The recharger is a handheld device for charging the battery in your neurostimulator. The display screen provides information about your charging system.
  • The antenna is connected to the recharger and establishes communication with your neurostimulator.
  • The waist belt helps keep the antenna directly over your neurostimulator while recharging.
  • The AC power supply and power cord charge the recharger when its battery runs low.

RECHARGER CONTROLS

  1. Turns neurostimulator ON
  2. Turns neurostimulator OFF
  3. Begins recharging the neurostimulator
  4. Ends or interrupts the neurostimulator recharging session
  5. Turns the recharger ON, also turns the sound/beeping of the recharger ON and OFF

TIPS FOR RECHARGING YOUR RESTORETM SYSTEM

  • It's very important to charge the neurostimulator even if you aren't using it for an extended period of time.
  • You can charge the neurostimulator and recharger at the same time. As your recharger ages, you may need to charge the battery more often.
  • To interrupt a recharger charging session, disconnect the recharger from the AC power supply. To interrupt the neurostimulator charge session, press the stop charge button.
  • If the recharger screen won't power on and is blank, it may need to be charged. Try plugging the recharger into the AC power cord. If it still doesn’t power on check the FAQ page for more tips.
  • Don't place the antenna/belt over bulky clothing or bandages.
  • The antenna may be placed directly on your skin. However, if the antenna irritates your skin, you might want to wear a thin undergarment to protect your skin.
  • The charging session could take several hours, depending on the connection strength of the implanted neurostimulator.
  • You might hear periodic clicking noises during recharging, and you might see the screen refresh. This is normal.
  • Charging efficiency is affected by factors such as implant depth and location, and efficiency will vary between patients. You and your clinician can work together to optimize your recharging efficiency.
