5mm MVP device

Peroneal artery

The ability to occlude the vessel in a controlled manner in a precise location was critical to preserve as much blood flow to the lower extremity as possible. The MVP device is the best option for such a case. The ability to inject contrast around the microcatheter prior to deployment of the device was really key as it allowed for confirmation of location prior to release of the device.

24-year-old male seen for Open Reduction and Internal Fixation (ORIF) for ankle fracture.

He presented with tender calf lump six weeks after ORIF.

CT angiogram revealed peroneal artery pseudoaneurysm.
