This tool will help you calculate the driving pressure value (cmH20).

Keeping the driving pressure below 15 cm H2O provides a threshold to help clinicians titrate tidal volume VTE(ml) to minimize lung injury.

This tool will help you calculate the driving pressure value (cm H2O). Enter the VTE values and CPAV values in the calculator.

Calculating driving pressure at the bedside may help identify patients prone to developing ventilator induced lung injury and increased risk of death.

The PAV+TM software on the Puritan BennettTM 980 ventilator provides a lung compliance variable (CPAV), which allows for an easy calculation of the driving pressure.

Keeping the driving pressure below 15 cm H2O provides a threshold to help clinicians titrate tidal volume (VTE) to minimize lung injury.

This calculator is not a substitute for the exercise of professional judgment and is not intended to replace the Operator's Manual, which should always be available while using the ventilator.
