Living With the Therapy
People with neuromodulation may find that they are able to do many more things than they felt able to do prior to the procedure (taking long walks through the park, seeing movies at the theatre, or travel for example). While it may take a while to adjust to the therapy, you should be able to resume normal activities soon.
Remember: Even after you’ve made a full recovery from surgery and resumed your normal routine, it’s important to stay in touch with your doctor about any questions or concerns you have.
If you have questions about your neuromodulation therapy contact your doctor. You can also consult the following information and literature.
Some people report feeling worried because they don’t feel stimulation all the time. Your doctor may have programmed your neuromodulation to "cycle” (turn on and off at regular intervals). As long as your symptoms are under control, don’t worry if you can’t feel constant stimulation.
If you have questions about your neuromodulation therapy, or if your urinary retention symptoms return, call your doctor.
