After the procedure, the patient may spend a day or more in the hospital. Most patients begin walking within a day or two of their Medtronic TAVI procedure.
Before the patient leaves the hospital, the heart team will explain what kinds of activities they can do, if the patient needs to take medication, and when they will need to see their doctor again.
The patient will also be given a card with information about their TAVI heart valve. They can share this card with all members of the healthcare team, including their dentist. If the patient needs an MRI, they would need to inform their doctor of the Medtronic TAVI heart valve, and any other surgical heart valve.
To monitor the transcatheter aortic valve replacement recovery, you should consult your doctor.
In the case of concerns around, discomfort, or changes in health, be sure to let your doctor know right away.
