Medtronic Australasia ranked 12th on this year’s Best Workplaces list in the medium company category, which includes companies with 100 – 999 employees in Australia.
The ranking was determined through an independent and detailed analysis conducted by Great Place to Work® and follows earlier announcements that Medtronic was a LinkedIn Top company in Australia.
“It is an honour to be recognised as one of Australia’s best places to work - this is especially meaningful given the difficulties over the past year,” said Liz Carnabuci, managing director of Medtronic Australasia. “Despite multiple lockdowns and many employees working remotely, we have successfully maintained a sense of inclusion for all our teams in a virtual environment. This is a testament to the strong workplace culture we have built at Medtronic.”
Medtronic Australasia has always strived to foster a sense of belonging for all employees, especially since pivoting to a remote work model. This includes holding virtual all-employee meetings, online training and e-learning opportunities and encouraging flexible working arrangements.
Furthermore, the organisation has continued to support a broad range of employee-driven initiatives. These include programs where guest speakers and diversity advocates facilitate meaningful discussions across a broad range of topics, including disability in the workplace and anti-racism.
The Medtronic mission, which was written in 1960, was what helped guide the company during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“At Medtronic, our Mission is our North Star, and one of our tenets is to recognise the worth of every employee,” said Karen Newell, human resources director of Medtronic Australasia. “This helped shape our approach with our employees throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and it will continue to lead our day-to-day work as we continue our commitment to make Medtronic an inclusive, diverse and equitable workplace.”
