Cardiac syncope, or fainting caused by the heart, may be difficult to tell apart from other types of fainting. If someone is fainting and doesn’t know why, it is important that they have their heart checked by a doctor. If someone has cardiac syncope, they may faint with no warning. They may also experience fainting when seated, lying down, or exercising.
