Can someone with an insertable cardiac monitor (ICM) use industrial equipment?
A person with an ICM or loop recorder may need to avoid using or working near some industrial equipment to avoid interference if the equipment is high-voltage, or has a high electrical current, magnetic fields, or other EMI sources. Examples of such industrial equipment include: electric furnaces in manufacturing of steel, industrial heating equipment and induction furnaces (such as kilns), industrial magnets, dielectric heaters, electric welding equipment, broadcasting antennas, power plants, and large generators. Check with the ICM's manufacturer to learn more.
