Can someone with an insertable cardiac monitor (ICM) travel?
Traveling shouldn't be a problem for people who have an ICM or loop recorder. It is safe to go through security checkpoints, like those found at airports. If possible, a phone or bedside monitor should be taken on the trip, depending on which is being used to send information to their doctor. If going for a long trip or a trip with a big time difference, people who have an ICM should check with their clinic. The care team may want to adjust the time zone on the bedside monitor to make sure heart data uploads while the person is sleeping.
