Can someone with a heart device have CPR performed on them?
Yes; if CPR is needed, it should be delivered following modern standards. For hands-only CPR, first contact emergency services, and send someone for an AED. Then, place the palm of one hand in the middle of the chest, slightly below the breast line with the other hand on top of the first. Press hard and fast, at least 2 inches (5 cm) down at a rate of 100 beats per minute. Don't stop delivering CPR until instructed to by medical personnel, or when another person takes over giving CPR.
